The ILO is launching the Observatory on AI and work in the digital economy

On September 25, starting at 4.30 pm (Italian time), the International Labour Organisation is presenting the Observatory on Artificial Intelligence and Work in the Digital Economy. A portal that aims to become the largest centre of knowledge and exchange of good practices and operational proposals to govern the impact of AI on the world of work.

The Minister of Labour and Social Policies, Marina Calderone, representing Governments, will speak at the launch event, bringing the human-centred approach defined in the Declaration and in the Action Plan adopted at the end of the G7 Labour Employment meeting in Cagliari to the attention of the other illustrious speakers and people connected around the world.

In addition to interventions by the ILO Director General, Gilbert Houngbo, and the Director of Research, Richard Samans, contributions are expected from the United Nations Secretary General's Special Envoy for Technology, Amandeep Singh Gill, and members constituents of the ILO in the persons of the Secretary General of the International Organisation of Employers (IOE), Roberto Suarez Santos and the Vice President of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC), Cathy Feingold.
