The Minister of Labour and Social Policies Marina Calderone spoke at the Labour7 meeting, the international trade union summit today in Cagliari.

The Minister, thanked everyone present for the contribution to the preparatory activity of the G7 Labour and Employment, underlined the importance of the inclusive approach as a distinctive feature of the reflections that will flow into the final document of the G7 ministers from 11 to 13 September.

The "availability" to translate the L7 findings into moments of discussion in the corresponding G7 was then confirmed. The Minister of Labour and Social Policies underlined that "the importance of reconnecting the work of the G7 ministerial meeting to the commitments undertaken by the Heads of State and Government at the summit in Puglia in June". And the objective of promoting the leadership of the G7, affirming the value of democracy, individual and collective freedom, human rights and the role of dialogue and cooperation with the global South, also through advantageous partnerships.

On artificial intelligence, Minister Calderone said that "we must put technology at the service of the person, not the person at the service of technology".
