This morning in Chisinau, a cordial and productive meeting took place between the Italian Minister of Labor and Social Policies, Marina Calderone and the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu. The meeting was part of the Minister's visit to Moldova to participate in the High-Level Conference on the European Social Charter.
Minister Calderone reiterated Italy's support for Moldova joining the European Union. The meeting highlighted the importance of the Social Security Agreement (signed in October 2024), which facilitates worker mobility and economic cooperation.
Minister Calderone expressed her full willingness to support the reforms that the Moldovan government is pursuing, offering to make available to Chisinau the tools developed in Italy for artificial intelligence, digitalization, and combating undeclared work.
