Ministro Calderone a Torino 60esimo CFI OIL

The Minister of Labour and Social Policy, Marina Calderone, participated in the 60th anniversary celebrations of the ILO International Training Centre. The Centre, founded in 1964, marked the beginning of a fruitful collaboration between the ILO and the Italian government aimed at promoting workers' rights and social justice, with the support of the institutions and the economic fabric of Piedmont and the city of Turin.

"We are strongly committed to supporting the ILO's International Training Centre (ILO) and "We will continue to support the International Training Centre's Special Session of the Board of Directors because we recognise the importance of investing in the future of work in order to create a fairer, more inclusive and sustainable world, also in light of the valuable collaboration on the priorities of the Italian G7 Presidency". The commitment to maintain close collaboration with the ILO and to support the Turin Centre - a reference point for training and the development of labour policies - is in line with the objectives of the 2030 Agenda and has been strengthened by the signing of the letter of intent between the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies, Directorate General for Active Policies,  and the OIL Centre where the co-design of theoretical-practical training activities within the National School of Active Labour Policies are being promoted.

The Minister also thanked all the people whose work has contributed to the growth of the Center: "Only with collective commitment is it possible to ensure a proper functioning and to pursue the goal of decent work".

On the margins of the celebrations, the Minister also met with the ILO Director-General, Gilbert F. Houngbo, to whom she reiterated her support for the Global Coalition for Social Justice, recalling the commitment to promote it in the Declaration signed by the G7 Ministers of Labour and Employment in Cagliari.
