The Third Sector Single National Register (RUNTS) is the electronic register managed by the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy to ensure the full transparency of third sector organisations by making their data and information available to the public. https://servizi.lavoro.gov.it/runts/it-it/Scopri-il-RUNTS
By registering with the RUNTS, entities are able to acquire third sector organisation (TSO) status, or the specific status of a voluntary organisation (ODV), social promotion association (APS), philanthropic entity or associative network; they can also benefit from certain advantages, including tax breaks, can access the ‘5 per mille’ personal income tax scheme, and for specific types of TSO may have access to public subsidies or to enter into agreements with public authorities; in certain cases they may also acquire a legal personality.
The Register is managed electronically on a territorial basis by the RUNTS State Office, Regional Offices and Provincial Offices, managed respectively by the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, by each region and by the autonomous provinces of Trento and Bolzano.
The RUNTS is a public register that can be accessed by all interested parties and public administrations.
