Risk cases and specific assessment models

Risks in the workplace can be identified as:

  • Safety risks (accident risks),
  • Health Risks (environmental hygiene risks),
  • Cross-cutting risks

Accident risks are risks responsible for the potential occurrence of accidents or injuries that are linked, for example, to structural deficiencies in the working environment or safety deficiencies in machinery and equipment.

Environmental hygiene risks are risks responsible for the potential impairment of health. Such risks mainly arise from exposure to chemical, physical and biological agents.

The employer is required to carry out a risk assessment, with consequent drawing up of a Risk Assessment Document (RAD)

The employer carries out a risk assessment and draws up the relevant document in conjunction with the person in charge of the prevention and protection service and the competent doctor, when health surveillance is required.

Risk assessment activities are carried out after consultation with the workers’ safety representative.
