STRATEGIES, TRUST, RULES, SKILLS

Introduction

The debate on the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the world of work, both in a European context and internationally, is increasingly important in order to steer a transformation that will affect institutions, businesses, workers, and society. The Ministry of Labour and Social Policies, in association with Inps (national social security institute) and Inail (the institute that oversees national insurance against workplace accidents and illnesses), has gathered together representatives of institutions, trade unions, academics and businesses in Rome to share visions and strategies, experiences and common standards to encourage an open conversation on what opportunities and responsibilities AI will bring to the table. One of the objectives of the meeting is to further outline a clearer strategy that puts people at the center of innovation, to strengthen protections while creating new growth opportunities, at a time when the Monitoring Centre on the adoption of AI systems in the world of labour envisaged by Law no. 132 of 2025 is in the process of being introduced. The discussions will focus on understanding where AI is taking us and how to govern its impact in a fair, sustainable and future-oriented way, and ensure innovation always remains at the service, and not to the detriment, of society
